Revolt 1783 (1 hour, Dutch title: Oproer 1783, muziektheatre/dance, 2006)

A black page in the history of Arnhem.
Heat, disease, dirt, an agitated people,
unwilling governors, a decision.
Who breaks the law? Who challenges who?
A broken promise, a clash:
the cemetary revolt, in the summer of 1783.

Revolt 1783 is the first performance of CompActLab and was produced at CASA (Centrum voor Architectuur en Stedenbouw Arnhem) in the former Coberco factory in Arnhem, the Netherlands. With over 300 visitors and many positive reviews the collective can look back on a successful performance.
'Goosebumps and deadly quiet attention in the audience. Exactly one hour after the beginning the bells of the Eusebiuschurch ring in the end of the performance. And not just the timing of this new theatre initiative is perfect.' - Nicole Beaujean, de Gelderlander, about Revolt 1783 (click here for the complete review, in Dutch).

Revolt 1783 was performed every day (except on the 18th) from 13 - 23 september 2006.
